Abstract
This article attempts to analyse barriers to social communication among students of higher education institutions (HEIs). In the context of rapid social, technological and educational transformations, effective communication is critical for both successful academic performance and the development of professional and social competencies of future specialists. The aim of this work is to identify and analyse the main obstacles that arise in the process of interpersonal and group social communication among students, as well as to determine their impact on psychological comfort and the learning process.
