Abstract
The article analyzes the linguistic means of representing the image of a child and childhood in contemporary Ukrainian prose. The concepts of CHILD and CHILDHOOD are examined from the perspective of sociocultural and literary phenomena, as well as through the interpretation of the child’s image in the context of modern social and wartime transformations. The study identifies linguistic means used by writers to convey emotions, experiences, and the inner world of children. It also explores the linguistic tools employed to depict the image of a child and childhood in the work «Children of Air Raid Sirens» by Larysa Denysenko. The article outlines how sensory imagery and emotionally charged vocabulary help convey fear, danger, and empathy experienced by children during wartime.
